What to look for

Reading an attic photo

  • Before: joists visible means R-11 or less, and every wire hole is an air leak
  • During: the machine in the driveway, the hose through the hatch, covers on the lights
  • After: an even white blanket, no joists showing, depth markers standing up
Recessed light cover sealed with foam before insulation
A can light cover foamed to the drywall. This is the step that gets skipped.
